Cotoneaster Horizontalis

I planted this cotoneaster when we first came to the Dower House to soften the edge of the patio. It has done remarkably well considering the poor soil it is planted in, and the flowers at this time of the year are tiny and exquisite.

His Lordship is no doubt horizontalis at the dentist as I write, parting with £500 for a crown on a back tooth. It seems that our NHS dentist doesn't do NHS crowns ( if there are such things ) and so the pain of the numbing injection will be nothing to the pain in his pocket.

Thereafter he is going for an eye test which will probably mean another pair of expensive spectacles likely to remain in their case in his pocket, only being brought out under extreme emergencies, i.e. when I am not there to help wth anything he can't read unaided.

For my part I am staying close to home, because DPD driver Michael will deliver the 2nd part of Tuesday's shopping order today between 14:36 and 15:36 and DPD driver David will complete the order between 16:46 and 17:46. I do love the continuing use of named men and the use of odd numbers of minutes. It will be especially nice to see Michael again, he who arrived promptly at 15:14 yesterday.
