Life through the lens...

Love Birds.

Difficult choice for a blip today, so have put some more photos on extras.
This is a pair of ganets nesting on the cliff edge. Just love their eyeliner.

Taken at Bempton Cliffs, on a day that couldn't have been more perfect.
Just managed to get parked in the overflow,of the overflow car park.
Brilliantly managed by three car park attendants. ( Thank you RSPB )
I think everyone was making the most of a fine day after several days of bad weather.
However it didn't seem too crowded. There is plenty of cliff for everyone, including  1000 Ganets, 1000 Razorbills and Guillemots, and 1000 Kittiwakes, not to mention the puffins and several other sea birds.

We were greated with the song of skylarks hovering above in the clear blue sky.
I have never seen the North Sea looking so blue.
The air filled with birds swooping and diving everywhere over the sea.
Many more nesting on the cliff face.

We had a picnic sat with a wonderful view of it all. Felt so warm in the sunshine. What a difference from yesterday.
We went on to visit some friends and have a good natter and catch up.

Came home through Forge Valley, and on to Pickering, before stopping in Helmsley for some fish and chips. ( Best we have had in a long time.)
Then home via Sutton Bank. Hoping for a lovely sunset, but it was not to be.

Now enjoying a nice cuppa after a wonderful day out.
200 mile round trip but well worth it!
