The accidental finding

Decorative tile, Millennium Bus Shelter

...on Chalford Hill. Chalford once had a chair factory that also made walking sticks. Now the former premises, Victoria Works, are hired out as artists' studios. The work of craft continues.

I was waiting for the bus after returning from a visit to my friend, Sandra, who has to keep her foot elevated after a leg ulcer turned nasty. She doesn't find this easy, being a very active person.

Work was busy. The photographer came, and all the families with older or younger siblings waited in our space. Then the fire brigade arrived, and gave our children a safety talk, before letting them clamber in the fire engine, try on helmets, play with the hose (it was raining like a monsoon already) and experience at close hand the Sound of Sirens. The children were suitably impressed.

After lunch, we went swimming. The pool was working again. We're so lucky to have use of the school's own hydrotherapy pool.
