Goodbye for now, B - et au revoir!

Today I did a forced march to meet B, back for a quick visit after leaving Brazil at the end of last year - she's taking a wee present for our granddaughter, who had her 10th birthday recently. I was pretty impressed with myself for covering well over half the length of the Copacabana waterfront in 22 mins and arriving dead on time. Then walked back at a more leisurely pace, taking random photos. The sea's still wild, and apparently may get wilder in the next few days.
The mural behind B was painted by Dominique Jardy, and her beautiful work is also to be found in the Copacabana Palace and other public places in Rio. I met her some five years ago, when we were in the same group for a two-day hike over the mountain between our town in the mountains and the next town over.

Spent the rest of the day ineffectively shuffling papers and getting distracted by anything and everything - including discussions with our lovely tenant, Camila, on everything from the tempests raging in the Brazilian and US political spheres to the best looking film stars, male and female. It's far too easy to spend ages chatting to her - and rather nice, like having a daughter in the house again.
