Spectacular spectacles

They are hard to see but this hen has pink plastic glasses fixed on to her beak. There were three hens in an enclosure in the pub garden with a notice stating that they are wearing glasses as they keep pecking each other.

Well - I have seen chickens wearing knitted coats, and also a protective covering to prevent them from being hurt by over zealous cockerals, but this is the first time I have ever seen them wearing glasses.
