Charles Pugh house

Phoenix history lesson. This house, built around 1897, is along Second Avenue, which was a vibrant community from around the 1920s to 1960. There was a trolley line along the avenue. This house also was a boarding house called the Lewis Hotel and a restaurant.

It is one of the few Victorian-era houses left in the city. That period lasted from 1885 to 1905 in Phoenix. Its architecture style is Queen Anne.
