On my way to a weekend near Machynlleth I spent a couple of hours at RSPB Ynis-hir (see extra) and although the number and variety of birds was a bit disappointing, a chance conversation informed me of the Dyfi Osprey Project just down the road.

So off I went and was pleased to catch them still open - I've never seen an Osprey before.  Neither of the pair was moving much but this is the live streaming link, so I'll keep an eye on them from now on.  There are three eggs and the first is due to hatch any day.... I've just looked again and the first is out!

Along the boardwalk leading to the viewing tower I saw lots of Ragged Robin, which pleased me as much as seeing the Ospreys because I've been on the lookout for it.
