SIAM Optimization 2017 began and the final session of the day saw my student and I give our talks. We had a good audience. Then it was the "Welcome Event" where we chatted with old friends of mine. Finally, since no-one wanted to go out for another drink, we went to a bar on the waterfront before a walk to watch the seaplanes.
