Headcases

This is "Hunter and Lass" week in Penicuik, a series of events which sees the Hunter and Lass installation on Thursday evening and, on Saturday, the parade and fair in the park. Most years it seems that this hairdressers, Headcases, wins the window decoration competition and the fancy dress pram race.

Times are tough for the festivities, though: it's getting harder to find people prepared to be Hunter and Lass, harder to find marshals for the parade - I volunteered when I heard that there was a real chance that too few marshals would mean no parade - and Council cuts mean that money has to be found for things they used to do for the town.
