Now, as I see it......

Chastleton House

A glorious sunny day today with temperatures here reaching 30c. We were both free so decided to have a drive over to the Cotswolds to enjoy the weather. We stopped for lunch in Stow-On-The-Wold where we spotted flocks of the Grey Crimplened Pensioner Bird with their distinctive calls of 'Phew' and 'It's Twot', and then carried on the Chastleton House, a National Trust property. Interesting to look round; it was built between 1607 and 1612 after which the family started to run out of money, so it has remained essentially unchanged for over 400 years. Since the NT took over in 1991 they have repaired the property and made it safe but deliberately left it looking as it did, complete with cracks and cobwebs.

My view is of the central internal courtyard but I've added an extra of the back of the house taken from the garden. I've also added another extra which, if you can expand it up enough to read it, shows that whilst they might not have had Facebook or Twitter in the 19th Century, the political slurs at election time still took place!
