Backyard birding again (Backblip)

The redheaded woodpecker is a rare sight in our neighborhood. Actually I had never seen one in our backyard, and I was excited to see this fellow when he stopped by during spring migration. We live near the Lake Erie shoreline, so migrating birds often stop off here to rest before they make the challenging flight across the Lake, especially when the weather is bad. And we have had plenty of bad weather this spring. Not violently bad, just cold, wet, and windy. To my delight, this colorful fellow dropped into our backyard on one of those days. You can see more pictures of him here.
