Sea Stars

I do wonder if these sea stars will ever come back after the devastating wasting disease that decimated them on the West coast since 2013.  It affected all varieties.. the sunflower stars have not come back at all.   The water temperature may be part of the problem, in addition to the documented virus they had.     We counted our usual 50 meters today and got 35, which isn't too bad.     They look healthy.  This however is a composite picture —I just wanted those healthy looking purple creatures and all sorts of green and brown seaweed, a bit abstracted.


The extra was taken last night out the back door.
