Band of Nobles

That's the name of this variety of lupins. 

Several years ago I sowed a pack of seed in the wilder part of the garden. The plan was to move them once I saw what colours they were, but I never got around to it, and they have been left to their own devices till now.

Lupins seem to have  been out of fashion for years, but I heard them mentioned on one of the reports from Chelsea, so maybe they are coming back in again. 

Crazy colour combinations, tough as old boots, not bothered by the rain and with a funny peppery scent.I love them.
