Sewing

A good friend asked me to do some hemming for her as she is short like me so skirts are usually too long.   Nothing complicated..she knows I would not do that!

While I was straightening this skirt in preparation to begin the sewing, I marveled at how the needle and thread would make their way through the cloth to catch the other thread coming from the bobbin.   A marvel of engineering!     I have been sewing since I was 12 or 13 but never really thought about how the sewing machine works.   

Definitely a moment.
