If you can't beat them...

Primula vialii

I gather the common name is Orchid Primrose but I have never known it as anything other than P.vialii.

We decided fairly late in the morning to visit garden centres.  Foolish I know for a Bank Holiday monday.  The traffic wasn't bad and the weather stayed kind.   As it turned out we missed a Scottish Blipper at one garden centre, he must have been having coffee as we walked around outside!

Of the things which caught my eye (at the garden centre which allows photography) P vialli was the best.  P vialii is synonymous with P littoniana as George Forrest named it after the Consul who helped him, with his travels G Litton but the plant had previously been named by the French Botanist Pere Delavay
