Living dangerously

... the cherry jam came within millimetres of the edge of the pan, but never actually overflowed. I now have four jars of this delicious substance. It's a bit runny for spreading on toast, but makes delicious desserts. I also reduced nearly a kilo of cherry tomatoes to one small jamjar.

This afternoon we went to the tax office in Narbonne to enquire about the tax position of my still not released UK pension. The screeching harridan who "helped" us had us clutching our heads by the time we left; it would have been nice not to be treated like idiots. At least we didn't have to wait too long. We then went on a fruitless search for kitchen tiles before giving up and going home, pausing only to buy some ice cream from our local supplier to Michelin-starred restaurants, which was a well-earned treat.
