The Lozarithm Lens

Melksham (Tuesday 30th May 2017)

This week a fitter has been replacing windows throughout the Old Forge and its outbuilding. It involved a lot of hammering and comings and goings so on Tuesday I took myself off for the day, and visited a friend in Melksham.
Afterwards I bought items in Waitrose to add to a picnic I had brought with me and took it all to the boathouse by the River Avon, where a lot of boaters were practising their skills on the river, ignored by the resident mallards and two sets of ducklings.
After a while two swans glided into the launching area, followed by four beautiful young cygnets. The male swan did a lot of splashing about to presumably clear some kind of irritation that must have been underwater, while the female swan stayed close to her charges (see Extra).

In Series 3 of Twin Peaks, now showing on Sky Atlantic, some episodes feature bands entertaining the patrons of the Bang Bang Bar, a roadhouse in Twin Peaks, including the Chromatics who end Episode Two with this accomplished homage to Julee Cruise and Blue Velvet.
