Grass

It had not occurred to me before that there are many different kinds of grasses, just as there are flowers, although how on earth anyone identifies them I have no idea. In the hedgerows I have seen some that look different from others, but I suspect that in fields used for pasture, such as here, it will all be some kind of common meadow grass, if there is such a thing.

Walking down the track opposite our house, it was nice to see so many fields full of long grass and buttercups. I’m not sure they will stay that way for very long.
 
And no I was not lying in the grass to take this!! The track is a sunken lane and so one is sometimes at eye level with the field. This was taken through a square in the wire fence.
