Wells

We had an good day.  The weather was fine and we drove to Holt for a wander round and morning coffee.  We then went to Wells-Next-The-Sea a bustling little seaside resort, the town being by a harbour with thebeach and sea about a mile away.  After lunch in a fine pub, Wells' Crab Salad for me, delicious, we went to the beach, I went on the miniature railway whilst the other three walked.

There is a vast beach based round sand flats and is known for its beach huts, all on stilts which stretch the length of the beach as far as could be seen.  The extra is a single beach hut we had noticed for sale in an estate agents window in town, "needing a little improvement" a snip at £40,000!

The beach was busy with holiday makers and the sea boasted yachts and water skiing (see second extra, the flock of birds in the background are Oyster Catchers).

Later we took a drive along the coast road as far as Cromer before coming back to the accommodation for tea.
