Buxton

We went for a short stay in Buxton today, a Georgian/Regency/Victorian spa town in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire.  We stopped off at Ashbourne where we met our friends John and Jennie who are staying with us.  We had lunch and a little walk around before setting off to Buxton.

We met at the Airbnb apartment in the centre of the town, opposite The Pavillions, an arts and garden centre fronted by a very lovely park.  This is part of the stream that runs through the park.

We had a look around the town before returning for tea in the property's garden.

The extra is the inside the Devonshire Dome, built in 1779, the largest unsupported dome in Europe.
