Charity Boat trip to D'Urville Island

It has been a long day but we wouldn't have missed it for the world. A local business family that own a fleet of Sea Shuttle boats that ply the Abel Tasman National Park taking trampers into the Park offered a trip in a different direction to D'Urville Island northeast of Nelson. The boat left Nelson at 9am with about 85 people aboard. They can take up to 200 and were limiting this to 100 and all the money goes to 4 local charities. We paid $100 each and it was worth every penny.
It was a day of contrasts weatherwise, seawise (from smooth to very rough by Stephens Island), the landscape constantly changed and there were all sorts of people aboard to talk to and find out about.
We did see dolphins, seals, gannets, terns, all in a feeding frenzy at one part and one of my extras is my best shot of the dolphins.
My main shot is of one of the very odd islands that are all round the main island. We were in the rougher part then so I was pleased to get this so sharp.
We lunched at Catherine Cove and walked to the waterfall there which stretched our legs.
Going through French Pass another highlight and then as we came back to Port Nelson the pilot boats were guiding a container ship in.
