The Old Forge (Friday 2nd June 2017)

Another diary blip, this time showing the new kitchen window from the front yard, which seems to be changing daily at the moment. Some rendering is on the agenda now, and a lick of paint for the window sill.
Friday is normally gardening morning but as it is half-term there was no Refna this time. I spent some time in the garden organising the outbuilding sheds and the car-port.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Smiths - Is It Really So Strange? (recorded 2 December 1986, BBC Maida Vale 4, for the John Peel Show)
Stuart Maconie said on air on this day when he played this track that for most bands a song like this would be a career highlight, whereas the Smiths recorded so many classic songs that this was buried on a compilation album, Louder Than Bombs. Actually, there was no new material on that album, this track having previously been on the Sheila, Take A Bow single. They never released an 'official' version of the song, the only released version having been this, recorded for a John Peel Radio One session.
