Bullfinch

The weather has been so bad again that I've had to do some hoovering!  Thankfully I had a lunch date with Sally-Ann, who is over from New Zealand visiting family.  We stayed overnight with her and Ian when we were in Wellington on our NZ Big Adventure in 2016, before we caught the ferry to South Island.  We knew Sally-Ann and her parents from many years ago when we were all in the same orienteering club so it was good to once more catch up over lunch at the Potting Shed.  She bought Tony a packet of Tim-Tams which are going down very well, thank you Sally-Ann!

Lack of inspiration for blipping in this weather as it is so wet and blowy, but the elder tree was full of birds earlier (before the magpies arrived!!) so I was fortunate enough to catch this male bullfinch.  There were fledgling sparrows and fluffy starlings being taught how to feed themselves too.

Another catch-up lunch tomorrow, hopefully in better weather, this time with Mr John, and then on Thursday I'm off to Grimsby to catch up with old teacher training college friend Pip - what a week for reunions!
