The new water park

One of my favourite places to visit here in Akureyri (apart from Amtsbókasafnið, our public library, and Lystigarðurinn, the botanic garden) is Sundlaug Akureyrar - Akureyri's Swimming Pool in Þingvallastræti.
I swim for 20 minutes every day and then have a relaxing soak in the hot tub.
For almost a year now there has been lots of construction work on the grounds in preparation for a new water park and leisure area.  It's been rather annoying for regular guests because the staff has sometimes had to close one of the pools or the sauna or some of the hot tubs...and also there has been disturbing loud noise and dust coming from the machines they use.
I heard this was supposed to be finished and ready by Juli 1st, but I'm not very optimistic...ready in only 24 days?  We'll see.
