Above And Beyond...

Bolos!

Very probably the most photographed beach in Crete is Bolos Blue Lagoon only about 35 minutes drive from our apartment in Afrata, Crete. It's touristy and as a result they charge 1 euro each person which is followed by a drive along a 3 mile dirt track with cliff drops to avoid. So busy was it that we were in a convoy. The car park was full and we had to park on the cliff edge. A 30 minute walk down to the lagoon makes it worth the visit. With no parasols allowed and no sunbeds to rent, or shade, we only stayed about an hour but it was enough to take the aerial photo of the lagoon.

We then had a look around the larger village of Kissamos which had a lot of shops closed, possibly siesta time? We bought a couple of bottles of cold lemonade to cool down as we walked about before getting back for a swim and read around the pool.
