Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus)

After breakfast Monya, the visitors, and I went out for a walk up behind the house.  The bilberry bushes are all sporting little pink berries that will be turning blue in a few weeks.
Bilberries have a hard life. Here you see three outcomes...
Start out bottom left with a perfect berry that with luck will turn into a blue sphere of tastiness in July.  Moving into the centre we have a flower that hasn't yet transformed into a berry, and top right we see that even in their earliest days berries can get eaten!
Many thanks to Isbi for hosting Tiny Tuesday through June, and for suggesting today's "flora" theme.
The extra shows Monya stepping delicately through the bilberry undergrowth.
