Bright young things

lost forever..........

We went into Manchester today, after we had taken Emily to school. I didnt sleep well at all well last night so have felt a bit jaded today. We both had dentist appointments for check ups this morning. After that we wanted to go to see the floral tributes.

As soon as we rounded the corner towards St. Annes Square we could see one end of the mass of tributes, they have grown massively over the last two weeks and now consume almost the entire square.

The sight is so heart wrenching, my eyes started to fill with tears as we approached and I couldn't stop them as we walked around the whole circumference, taking time to read the poems and cards left by so many people.

The air is thick with the perfume of thousands of flowers, hundreds of balloons buffeting on the breeze, in the hushed atmosphere as folk pay their respects. It is both heart breaking and heart warming to witness this coming together of people from all over, in this wonderful city I call home.
