Pink & White Peony

Firstly, a big thank you for all your birthday wishes :-D

We slept very well after our 10 miles yesterday :-)

We called in at a local garden nursery this morning to chose 5 shrubs for middle sons garden......they have a shaded side area that has just been created so we are popping over to see the. and the girls on Sunday. Got a philadelpheus, two astilbes, a hypericum and a ceanothus.....all for just over £30!!

A quick pit stop to fill up the car, before dropping the plants off at home, then a walk in to town, in this glorious weather, its been absolutely beautiful today!! Lunch in the cafe, coffee and a toasted sandwich, before a leisurely walk home.

We've spent the afternoon in the garden, watering, weeding and generally pottering. I planted up the final 10 plants, impatiens, geraniums and gazanias, into planters. Hub washed the car, then got the hose out to water his potatoes and tomatoes, then decided to,give the flower beds a good drink too! Goodness knows how quickly our water metre was whizzing around :-/

So, todays blip is our other peony, not so frilly as the ehite one I blipped a few days back, but I do like the large pink petals and how they cradle the smaller white petals in the centre.

We've had a light tea, peppered mackrel with waldorf salad and brown bread and butter, really tasty, although you can imagine the smell around the house just now, despite having had the back door and all the windows open, and the extractor going like the clappers!!

Off for a wash and brush up now, quizzing tonight, a full compliment, so watch this space :-D
