Beautiful bright blue birthday

Well what a lovely birthday Ive had :-)

A lie in, before we decided to skip breakfast and go out for the rest of the day.
That was after opening my cards and pressies from my lovely family and friends.
Amongst other things, Ive had a new camera strap and bag off hub :-) I got a lovely surprise through the post, a little handmade bracelet from Olivia, complete with pink beads, shiny silver stars and horseshoes, and a beautiful unicorns head :-) I have worn it all day!

Hub and I stopped off at Fettlers Wharf in Rufford for an early lunch, before driving on to Southport. We parked and then walked all along the promenade, past the fairground, and on for quite some distance, before heading out towards the sea, although it was nowhere to be seen! I was in search of a big sky shot for todays wide angle Wednesday challenge ;-) The sky wasn't particularly dramatic, far too nice a day for that, but we settled on this one, thanks to StevenG for hosting this week. If you look closely you might just be able to,see Blackpool Tower beyond the end of the pier!

Eventually we headed back towards the Pier in need of a drink, before heading up the other end and on to Lord Street for more meanderings......we were going to stop for a beverage, but all the tables on the sunny side of the street were taken, so we decided to head home and have a tipple in the garden instead ;-)

The drive home was uneventful despite it being rush hour! Once settled on the deck with an Aperol Spritz we soaked up the sun, resting our weary feet, after 21,000 steps almost, circa 10 miles!!!! Our next-door neighbours popped round with a card and a bottle of fizz for me, which was really nice of them, they joined us for a drink. We passed another hour or so chatting before heading indoors for something to eat.
Just a salad with some grilled halloumi with chilli.........couldn't believe it was 8.45pm when we sat down to eat!

How time flies when you're having fun :-)
