Jeweled Beast

Actually, a baby alligator lit up by the late afternoon sun... I came to the alligator pond and found there just one of the three springtime babies, but enjoying him to the fullest were two small boys and a father who sweetly accepted me as a surrogate grandmother. Just for the duration of our visit... I was more than ready to apply a cautionary hand to the over eager back of one or the other to avoid a spill into the pond. A baby often means a mother lurking close by. 

I took few pictures, as the active boys kept me busy, but I had received more than I had hoped for. A short sweet time of human connection when I needed it.
