View from the Mission Gardens, San Juan Bautista

The Once-A-Month Wednesday Sketchers met at Mission San Juan this morning. After repeatedly trying to decipher the architecture of the mission --known to film buffs from the final scene of Hitchcock's Vertigo--I turned around and attempted the geometry and fantastic color of the neighboring fields. I'm always amazed how fast the time goes when I'm drawing; two hours went by in a snap. I'm also amazed at how exhausting it is to look carefully at something! And, no, I don't know what the swath of fuchsia is in the field. Everyone that came by asked the same question, and no one could answer.
