Mt Peel and the Orari River from Shackleton's Gate

This evening we headed out for a 'drive round the block', crossing over the Orari and heading inlands through Orari Gorge Station.

Here's the view towards a snow-capped Mt Peel across the Orari River, just before the entrance to the gorge.

Another gorgeous day in South Canterbury - such a beautiful place to be at this time of year.

For this shot I wanted to slow the river ripples a little, so I used a circular polariser, ND0.6 filter and balanced the sky with a ND0.6 graduated filter. This is a 6 frame panorama, stitched in Lightroom.
