Fishing

Goodness, another glorious day, will it ever end ... Mrs PS was up early to head out fishing around the rocks, I lazed in bed reading and enjoying the serenity.

Which was deserved, as last night all the doctors in the family had to head to another bay to treat a friend on my father-in-law. Seems the guy had an extremely bad muscle spasm which completely debilitated him. Being doctors the bay has an extensive medical kit so that managed to help somewhat.

Anyway, the day was awesome, but then came the phone call. The patient was no better, so off to see him again they went. More drugs were prescribed, which meant a boat trip, then car to the other end of the island, a 3 hour round trip. In the meantime we decided that since it was our night for cooking we?d hunt and gather. A few dozen oysters collected of the rocks, then a dive for a bunch of scallops. Actually, quite a few but I won't say how many. It was funny as we had half empty tanks so we had to work fast, I worked a little too fast and let?s say that catch bag was a little heavy to pull up ;-)

Then assuming things we're all OK I got a leave pass to head out fishing at 5pm. Man, it was sublime - calm, little wind, just fantastic! I fished near the rock in this photo and caught 5 fish, enough for dinner, but being there was more important. Also I found the long line that had been set a few days earlier and lost, caught on an off shore submerge rock.

I txted the others saying "traffic bad, late home ?" as I found it hard to leave, not knowing that they had again visited the patient, things weren't a lot better. Their boat was moved to our bay and more doctoring, we got back to our house at 10pm, and cooked our seafood dinner. Fresh scallops and oyster fritters. Yum!

Sadly the guy was in a bad way ...
