Stone Creek

Today we ventured out on our bikes across an area north of the Humber Estuary known as Sunk Island. Long ago, Sunk Island originated as a sand bank in the Humber Estuary. At first it was open sea, then sand accumulated and it became part of the mainland. This shot was taken at Stone Creek, an outlet into the Estuary. Across the Humber you can see the industrial skyline of Grimsby.
