Facon Erabliere

Wasn't feeling the lawn mowing today. Partly due to that fact it's getting to that stage of the year it's not growing much, meaning autumn's officially here, and partly due to the fact I just can't be arsed with lawn mowing. The autumn vibe's been reinforced with the putting-away-of-the-garden-furniture ceremony conducted by Samantha and Euan just now too.

Had theses fancy beans on toast for lunch today, thanks to a tin of fancy beans sent from a fellowette blipper blipping out of Vancouver. Euan didn't notice a huge difference until after he'd finished them all and had asked what I'd put in them 'cause they tasted funny. Considering most of the food he chucks down his neck hardly touches the sides at the moment it's no surprise he hardly noticed the unusual taste, which was down to the 'Pure Quebec Maple Syrup' used in the sauce. They made for a tasty twist to the usual beans on toast all the same.

I'm pretty sure we could do some Scottish equivalent of these too; if Heinz and Barrs got together maybe, we could have a beans in an Irn-Bru sauce (the colour's spot on already for that one). Better still, some nice malt whisky sauce, for something like a Glenmorangie Orangey Baked Beans. Now that'd be a taste sensation. Or not. Might give it a go myself at some point though.

Thanks for those Hannah, they were very nice indeed. Feel free to send over any other food you might want tested any time, happy to help out.
