If you can't beat them...

Poppy.

One of the main reasons for coming up to Edinburgh was to give Katkatkat a hand with her allotment.  Last week she had a neck injury and hasn't to take exercise for a couple of weeks.  Having been away from the allotment for nearly two weeks the weeds were growing well.

So in the morning we got on with the weeding and I continued making up the frames for another of the unplanted beds.  Soon after lunch it started to rain.  Nothing daunted Katkatkat pointed out there were a few things she needed to buy for the allotment which would be easier with our car.

So the afternoon was a whistle stop tour o garden centre, nursery, herb farm, B&Q and Ikea.   The back to the allotment to quickly plant the new plants while sheltering under an Umbrella.

At the herb farm there was, fortunately a cafe where we had a coffee.  The cafe seating was in the greenhouse and poppies had seeded in most beds.  Sheltered from the elements they were in various stages from bud to seed pod.  Of the shots I prefered this.
