If you can't beat them...

By Jerra

An afternoon of culture.

Our last day of having Katkatkat at home as she and G head of back to Edinburgh this evening.  The morning was taken up by a good long wander round Go Outdoors (their choice) but one I wasn't going to argue with as I enjoy seeing how equipment has changed since my active outdoor days.

After lunch Kat suggested a visit to Up Front Gallery to look at the art she said.  I have a suspicion the fact their cafe produces many cakes which she is able to eat (being dairy and citrus intolerant her choice is generally limited) As we drove up the rather beautiful drive Clickychick spotted some ceramic heads (one is shown above) "They are made by Geof Cox who had the workshop next to mine when I was making jewellery at Whitbarrow" she said.   "You recognise his style?" I asked.  "NO! His dish clothes" was the reply!  It would appear he made texture on the ceramics by rolling different textured clothes into the clay.

After we had had a good look round it was on to Rheged for another (well a first for K & G ) wander round the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition.  After a nice meal made by Kat they were off home.

Thank you both for all the cooking and physical lock working etc over the last week.

N.B. Back blipped 4th June.
