Pearl-bordered fritillary

I had a fantastic afternoon at Gait Barrows NNR before we have to head back south tomorrow (sob!). There were lots of orchids to be seen, but I was interested in butterflies...and there were worryingly few. My disappointment Vanished on the last stretch of my walk, when three lovely fritillaries appeared, flying rapidly along the woodland ride. I stalked them for about half an hour, trying to get photos. Finally, one landed and I was able to get a good view - a late flying Pearl-bordered fritillary l think, rather than the Small pearl-bordered fritillary that should be on the wing now.
