Kuro-obi

Kancho sent an email talking about the meaning and importance of a dan grade (symbolised by the black belt, kuro obi, that indicates one is a serious student). His last sentence particularly grabbed me:

“yes the Kuro-obi is just a piece of cloth to keep your Gi together – but it is also something that keeps us all together.”

So I photographed my piece of cloth.
