The view from the cottage

Woken by a cuckoo at the B&B then off across Skye to catch the ferry from Uig to Lochmaddy on North Uist. We saw harbour porpoises from the ferry which was great!

We arrived at our cottage - the blip is the view from the door. The sheiling in front belongs to our landlady - if you saw the Robson Green programme about the Outer Hebrides, he stayed in it (highly unlikely in our opinion as it had no facilities whatsoever!)

At there cottage there was no wifi, no 4G coverage, I had no phone coverage on the island, there was no TV or hairdryer (although with the high winds it wouldn't have made a difference) and the closest shop (very small) was six miles away. We actually enjoyed being away from it all although I would have liked to have seen the election coverage.
