...that James is building.
And today he is completing the very cool staircase that leads up to a wide front verandah lined with french doors opening the house out onto the outdoor living space that is so suited to the West Australian climate.

I've been watching with great interest this wooden framed house, very similar in style to 'The Queenslander', grow on a sloping block of land.
Perfectly suited to the slope (no hugely expensive foundations) and with loads of below floor space (in the cyclone prone tropics 'cyclone rooms' are built here) the insulation need are all taken care of too.
No winter gales seeping through the floorboards (been there and it is bitter!) with slabs of insulation tucked in by panels of corrugated iron (extra).
