Exciting times ahead....

Ohhh I forgot to tell you... We got some exciting news recently...

Hero was chosen for the Danish Freestyle Team, which will represent Denmark at the Nordic Dog Dancing Championships in September. We've known that for a while... But a few days ago, it was announced that this little man will be on the team too. He will be the reserve on the Danish Heelwork To Music Team. How cool is that?! Gollum's Championship debut! Clever little chap!

The reserve dog will be travelling with the team and if one of the dogs on the other dogs om the team is unable to compete, then Gollum will take it's place. If all 4 dogs on the team are fit and well for the Championship, then Gollum will open the Championship by performing his routine as the 'white dog'. 

The white dog's job is to go into the ring and perform as the first dog on the day. Hopefully that will give the judges a chance to settle and get into the right frame of mind before they start judging and it will give the first competitor a guideline as to when he/she is going in. Also it will make sure that any flaws in the ring, carpet, speakers or music will be noticed before the competition starts. The white dog will be the 'test run'. And of course it takes the pressure of the competitors... No one has to go first!

Getting to perform as the white dog is usually considered an honour and I am just as excited about Gollum's reserve place on the HTM team as I am about Hero's  place on the Freestyle team. 

And maybe Gollum understands the responsibilty that has just been put on him.... As he had a super training session today. He was so clever!  

I took the boys out for a training session after work and then we went for a walk. A nice day indeed.
