Cambridgeshire Wedding Weekend Day 1!!

Stowe Gardens, near Buckingham

"The landscape garden at Stowe is one of the most remarkable legacies of Georgian England. Created by Viscount Cobham in the grounds of his family home from 1717, it reflected a programme of ideas based on Cobham’s hugely influential network of political affiliations." National Trust

Stowe Gardens was our lunch stop off point en route to Ely. Just enough time to wonder down to the lake and to admire the Palladian Bridge (just like the one in Prior Park Gardens in Bath!), before heading back to the road, just in time to get snarled up in the Friday rush hour traffic! Eventually we arrived at M's house in the early evening sunshine (an hour and a half later than planned due to roadworks and traffic), and were treated to a fish and chips supper. Now it's time to relax after a very long day...
