Lichen and buttercups

Today's the day ...................... to be yellow

Everywhere you look here there's a picture to be had.  

There's something about the light that - whatever the weather is doing - there's something interesting to see.  Well that - and the profusion of wild flowers that are everywhere to be seen.  Orchids are common as muck and grow like weeds along the roadside.  Even the lichen on the old concrete posts of the fence make it look like a work of art.

The extra is a little wheatear, one of a pair who have made a nest in the stone wall . . . . . . .   . . .
