Boaty McBoatplane overflies Birnbeck pier

Took another trip to Brean Down again today, this time to see some of the Weston Air Festival. We only stopped for the morning, so didn't get to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight or the Red Arrows. Seen them before anyway, but Janet was flagging in the heat.

Anyhow, this is a Catalina Flying Boat overflying the now seriously derelict Birnbeck Pier to the north of Weston Super Mare.

I took the 7D1 thinking the crop factor would give a longer reach to the 100-400mm, but I'd forgotten how less proficient a camera is in fact is to the 5D3, in terms of autofocus. I'd also forgotten the battery hadn't had a charge in a long time. Lasted just long enough!
