Rocky Mountain Moments

It was terribly windy again today so we didn't spend too much time outside after our walk this morning.  Then this afternoon I was helping Susie (Rick's better half) with some chores on the campground when a couple arrived on fully loaded bicycles looking for a campsite for the night.  Susie told them that the campground was full but I invited them to join us on our site.  It's a very large site that also has a tent pad that we aren't using.  They looked so tired from fighting the wind all day and were very happy to take us up on the offer.  So they unloaded their bikes and pitched their tent and headed down to the (ice cold) lake to wash up.  When they finished, they joined us at our campfire and told us about their journey.  They are from Freiburg, Germany.  They flew into Denver 4 weeks ago and have ridden about 1200 miles so far on a grand tour of Colorado, mostly through the mountains.  Tomorrow they will ride over Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, the highest paved road in the United States (12,183 ft. at the top).  From there they will begin their descent back to Denver for their flight home on Friday.  It was wonderful hearing about their adventure and getting to know them!  And it turned out to be a lovely evening.  The wind stopped blowing and you can see the last bit of our beautiful sunset in the extra.  :-))

Thanks to everyone for your comments and stars and hearts today.  Sorry I'm too tired to respond to them tonight but I'll catch up with all of you tomorrow.
