Final view of a long and hot day

It was my birthday today so I got to chose the agenda. We were up and out by 7am.We headed up to Ullswater with the intention of of spotting and photographing red squirrels at Seldom Seen. The squirrels were unaware that it was my birthday and failed to show up which was slightly disappointing but not unexpected. We then parked in Glenridding and then embarked on an arduous walk up through Greeenside and on to White Side (Wainwright no.1). From there we went up Raise (Wainwright no.2) and then crossed Sticks Pass to head up Stybarrow Dodd (Wainwright No.3). We then headed along the ridge and down to Nick Head before a quick there and back to Sheffield Pike (Wainwright no. 4). It was very hot and after a long day we decided not to take on Glenridding Dodd but instead dropped into Seldom Seen and returned to Glenridding  via the path by the road.

After nearly 50 miles of walking in the last four days tomorrow will be a gardening day.  The blip was taken on the descent towards Seldom Seen.
