Heaven's Gate

We left our campsite late morning and went on a nearby walk in what is part of the Longleat estate. This is known as Heaven's Gate, and these stone structures (sculptor, Paul Norris) were commissioned by the 7th Marquess of Bath for the Millennium. I thought they were quite fun, but with the sculptures behind us, the most beautiful part of the walk was the overlook over the whole of the Longleat Estate. It was a beautiful day, though still windy and we could see for miles!

We walked for about 45 minutes and could have made it a much longer walk by looping through the woods, but we had further plans on the way home! Our dear friend Queenie lives about 30 min from Warminster, more or less on the way home, so we stopped and paid her a visit and had a couple of cups of tea and cake with her. It's always a pleasure to see her and she and Dolly love each other dearly! (See Extra photo). It was hard to say goodbye but we hope to visit again soon.
