Worm takeaway

Today I did some gardening, interspersed with breaks inside as it was so hot.

I had a little helper in the garden, this robin was helping itself to worms from my compost bin as I worked. There were a pair of them pecking around, both looking thin and scruffy - rearing chicks had taken it's toll!

The extra is of a goldfinch feeding on seedheads which proves that my weeding wasn't rigorous! It's not a brilliant photo as it was taken through the window.
