No 129: Spoonbill

On track today for my challenge! I took a chance on not blipping spoonbills yesterday, and was rewarded when we went out this morning by a sighting of 9 of these unusual birds, only a short distance from the cottage. Unfortunately the light was not as fine as yesterday. I got a shot of them on a mudbank, but then these 7 took off. I would have been pleased to get a picture of ONE spoonbill, but 7 in flight was beyond my wildest dreams.
Along our walk, we saw huge numbers of oystercatchers and knots as well as redshank and ringed plover along the shore. As the sun came out, we saw lots of dragonflies on the bank behind the dunes.
